The AR-70 Stereo is a stereo version of the AR-51 vacuum tube microphone. The AR-70 can record X/Y stereo, Mid-Side or dual mono signals. It features two dual 25.5 mm diaphragm, edge terminated and matched TK51D capsules, a NOS ECC81/12AT7 based amplifier and a matched pair of European made T14/1 transformers. The top capsule is fixed cardioid while the bottom one is configured for remote multi-pattern use with 9 variable patterns from omnidirectional to figure of eight. This allows for both X/Y recordings as well as Mid-Side and dual mono. Includes M 970AR power supply, M801 25″ dual shielded TX-7 tube microphone cable, M 701 elastic shock mount, FC70 locking flight case and wooden microphone box.
