4105

Common name: STC 4105

Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage

The STC 4105 is a compact cardioid moving coil dynamic microphone. It is small and lightweight for an unobtrusive appearance. The cardioid polar pickup pattern is obtained with an acoustic phase shifting network. The cardioid pattern makes it ideal for sound reinforcement applications. The frequency response exhibit a bass roll off to compensate for proximity effect when the microphone is used for speech applications between 6 and 12 inches. The microphone uses a newly developed (in 1962) plastic diaphragm to guarantee stability under conditions where temperature can vary due to studio lighting or footlights. The plastic is also resistant to mechanical damage.
