The STC 4104 is a noise cancelling ribbon microphone with a better than 20 dB average rejection between voice and background noise. It is ideal for close speech in broadcasting applications with a flat frequency response when used close to the sound source while frequencies below 1 kHz are attenuated to compensate for proximity effect. It is light weight and robust. The STC 4104 is fitted with a mouth guard for a correct speaking distance and a breath shield to minimise lips, nostrils and plosives noise. The microphone uses a shielded miniature toroidal transformer providing excellent protection from electrostatic and electro-magnetic interference.
