The Soundfield ST-450 MKII is designed to record Ambisonic format audio on location. It features B-format outputs as well as a stereo output for direct recording and headphone monitoring. The hardware processor can control the polar pattern of the microphone, the stereo width and ‘end-fire or “inverted’ orientation. The B-format information can also be processed after the recording has been made in a DAW via the supplied “Surround Zone” plug-in. This new MKII version has an updated preamplifier design with 3 dB gain steps and an increased overall gain of 42 dB. The bar-graph now has a peak-hold feature. The electronics have been redesigned with new improved components resulting in better noise performance as well as more accurate stereo and surround imaging being extracted from the captures sound sources. Includes ST450 MKII control unit, HW3010 shock mount, 5 Metre 12 pin Lemo microphone cable (microphone to controller), B-Format and stereo output cables, external DC power supply.
