Common name: Shure 43D

Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage

The 43D is a “Wave Equalized” condenser microphone with a “bullet” type case for all “high-fidelity” microphone applications. It can be battery powered or operated with the Shure 41H power supply. The 41H-53BC variant has the power supply integrated in its floor stand. The 43D can be suspended overhead or mounted on a stand. The head swivels to allow the diaphragm to be faced directly toward the source of the sound. The head has a very shallow cavity and low phase-shift distortion for angular incidence. It is designed to be stable under a wide range of temperatures thanks to the selected Indian Mica insulation. The amplifier is of sectional construction with the head coupling elements housed in an individual, fully shielded compartment at the top of the unit. At the bottom of the unit a similar compartment contains the “Wave Equalizer” The two-stage amplifier uses a 6C6 in the first stage and a 76 tube in the second. Includes 25 feet, shielded, rubber-jacketed multiple-conductor power cable, special suspension adapter.
