The 425 is part of the “Commando” series of all-purposes omnidirectional microphones. They are very rugged, can be used indoor or outdoors, hand-held, on a floor stand or desk stand. They are ideal for both voice and music pickup in public address, conference, communication, despatching, live entertainment, theater and interview applications. The Commandos are unaffected by extreme temperature and humidity. The microphones use impact resistant polystyrene and are finished in non-reflecting grey. The lower part of the 425 is made of die-cast zinc with a satin chrome finish. Impedance is selectable between High and Low. The 425 has a 5/8”-27 threaded base permitting easy goose- neck mounting. It is furnished with a small-diameter attached 2.1 m (7 ft) two-conductor shielded cable. This microphone is also available with an attached gooseneck in a 6 inch length as Model 425-G6, in a 12 inch length as Model 425-G12, and in an 18 inch length as Model 425-G18.
