The CB 22 is a companion microphone to the CC 22 and CO 22, using a similar large rectangular diaphragm capsule but with a figure-8 response. It is intended primarily for use with a CC 22 for M-S recording or a second CB 22 as a Blumlein pair. The output is transformerless.
