The BTP is a limited availability three capsule microphone with variable patterns and zoom function, ideal for mono, stereo or surround recordings. It is ideal for vocals recordings as wells a for symphonic orchestras. The microphone is based upon a design of Dr. Edwin Pfanzagl-Cardone, head of the acoustic department of the Salzburger Festspiele. The centre capsule is switchable between omnidirectional, cardioid and figure of eight. The side capsules can be switched between figure of eight and cardioid. The microphone can record in mono and simultaneously in various stereo modes or in various surround formats. The centre capsule is useful to balance the soundstage and give provide focus either at the recording stage or later in post production. Any desired variation of directional patterns can be additionally created via a mixing desk. Recordings with the BPT are mono compatible. Includes shock-mount, a 40 cm long breakout cable and a wooden box.
