The SRND 360 a coincident surround microphone based on the rectangular diaphragm DC196 design. Three capsules in cardioid configuration are angled at 120° to each other. Dual diaphragm capsules can create virtual outputs with particular polar patterns by combining signals from each half; the SRND 360 extends this to using adjacent cardioids and can produce 6 virtual cardioid patterns. Each output is available separately and can be used for various surround or stereo purposes.
