The M 55 K is a large diaphragm pressure gradient omnidirectional capsule first produced in 1955. The capsule has a M 18 x 1 threaded screw mount for use with the CMV 551, 561, 562, 563, and 564 microphone amplifiers. Like the M 9S it is ideal for far-field use and exhibits an even broader high frequency boost up to about 20 kHz. In 1960 a M 55 Ks was produced, identical to the previous version but with higher sound pressure level capability.
