The PM 860 belongs to the Soloist Condenser Microphones Series. It is a small diaphragm cardioid handheld microphone specifically designed for vocal performance applications yet offering studio quality audio. It employs a chromium coated ceramic capsule. Its frequency response allows it to be use both in the free-field as well as for close-field pickup. The circuit is based around a FET input stage, an integrated circuit, a dc/dc converter that generates the polarisation voltage and an output transformer. It features a switchable 10 dB output pad and a low cut filter (60 Hz, -10 dB). The PM 860 was first released in 1986 (12 v power supply needed) and then briefly reissued in 2010. Includes wooden box and microphone clip.
