The M 295 is a small diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone with a nickel diaphragm capsule. These fixed capsule models (M 294, M 295, M 296, M 297) are an extension of the MV 200/SMS 2000 body plus capsules system. Here the microphone preamplifier has been modified to accept the historical M70 close-field cardioid capsule first released in 1970. The microphone provides a linear high frequency response with a slight bass frequency roll-off to minimise proximity effect of closely recorded sound sources. It also features a switchable 10 dB attenuation pad and a low-cut filter. Includes wooden case.
