Line Audio Design SM3LiSM3i a studio microphone with a single capsule cartridge that features three individual diaphragms. The design allows for the low noise associated with a large membrane area but also for the improved transient response of smaller diaphragms (which are also more robust). The on-axis response from 70 Hz – 15 kHz is +/- 1 dB. The suffix i version has lower self-noise than the original SM3. The low-cut shelving filter compensates for proximity effect.
