C-700A
Common name: Josephson Engineering C700A
Production Status: In production
The C-700A is a variable pattern condenser microphone employing two capsules (one responding to sound pressure, the other to pressure gradient). The output of each capsule is brought out to a separate connector. In use, the two output signals are brought up on to two channels of the mixing console. By varying the relative level of the pressure and pressure gradient signals, any directional pattern, from omni through cardioid to figure-of-8 may be produced. The outputs may also be recorded on two channels of a multitrack, allowing pattern selection and timbre control to take place during mixdown.
