5100

Common name: DPA Microphones 5100

Production Status: In production

The 5100 is a compact array microphone for suround use, particularly applicable to placing on cameras or slung over sports arenas. The array uses two spaced rear microphones with essentially omni characteristics and three front-facing capsules which are time coincident with short interference tubes. Internal baffling is also used to give directional discrimination. The front (LCR) signals can be mixed to give stereo or mono signals without comb-filtering effects. An LFE channel (20 – 120 Hz) is derived from a L/R sum -10 dB. All six channels are avaialble through a multiway connector. The unit is relatively impervious to wind and rain. (Specifications are for front channels).
