4012
Primary use:
Polar patterns:
Common name: DPA Microphones 4012
Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage
The 4012 is acoustically identical to the popular 4011, but differs in the powering method, which enables the 4012 to handle extreme sound pressure levels (168dB SPL peak). The off-axis characteristics of the 4012 are totally linear, a unique quality which required much development to obtain. Any leakage that occurs from off-axis sound sources is thus still a faithful reproduction of these sounds, though attenuated according to the true first order cardioid pick-up pattern.
Requires HMA4000 powering.
