Common name: CAD Audio e100²
Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage
The e100² is a single-pattern supercardioid electret design. It uses a sophisticated op-amp design as the impedance converter and a servo output (transformerless) configuration. These techniques allow high levels of negative feedback to be used to reduce non-linearity and to avoid the requirement for interstage coupling capacitors. The pad is a non-capacitive design and reduces gain only. Power requirements can exceed phantom capabilities so Equitek microphones use an additional internal rechargeable auxiliary supply. For limited use alkaline 9V batteries can be used alone.
