The RM-6 is a multi-purpose bidirectional ribbon microphone ideal for all acoustic instruments pickup applications. It features an individually hand-tuned RE-323 motor and is available with either a 1.2, 1.8 or a 2.0 micron 1″ short ribbon. The RM-6 is flatter and ehibits less distortion compared to the longer and thicker ribbon of the RM-5. It does have a slight boost in the hig-mid resulting in some “presence”. It also has a 3 dB hotter output level and a RTX-28 toroidal transformer optimised for thinner foil gauges. The microphone is available as a kit or fully built. All microphones are the original design of Artur Fisher with no stock components. All metal parts are machined by a local contractors and assembly is made in the Bumblebee workshop.
