The Bottle is the core of a tube condenser mic system with 9 interchangeable capsules. It uses an EF86 pentode in Class A triode mode and a custom-made transformer. No ICs and no pad or HPF filter switches exist in the signal path. All of the Bottle’s internal wiring is oxygen-free copper Teflon-insulated. The Bottle uses a “Power Stream” power supply unit with a soft-start circuit not only prolongs tube life but ensures correct operating conditions after just three minutes. The Power Stream offers a nine step polarization switch for sensitivity selections. Set at the top (zero) the microphone capsule is set at 60 volts for the suggested performance. When the switch is turned counter fully clockwise, the polarization voltage is reduced to deliver a 6dB lower output for louder signal sources. When turned fully clockwise, the polarization voltages are increased delivering up 4dB more output providing more sensitivity for quieter sound sources.
Capsules are B0 (large diaphragm cardioid), B1 (small diaphragm cardioid), B2 (large diaphragm fig-8), B3 (mid-size diaphragm cardioid), B4 (sphere pressure omnidirectional), B5 (large diaphragm pressure omnidirectional), B6 (dual back-plate large diaphragm cardioid), B7 (single back-plate large diaphragm cardioid). B8 (single back-plate cardioid), B9 (dual large diaphragm cardioid with pronounced high end), B10 (large diaphragm dual back-plate with smooth sound) and B11 (cardioid dual large diaphragm with vintage mid-range sound)
Sample specification is for the supplied B6 lollipop”capsule.
