The R12 is a large diaphragm multi-pattern vacuum tube microphone based on the historical C12. It is ideal for high-fidelity vocal and instrumental miking, and particularly suitable for classical recordings.The capsule is aCK12 type made of polyester, and the circuit is based around a NOS General Electric model 6072 5-star. All valves are tested one by one. The power supply uses Black Gate ™ electrolytic capacitors and incorporates a multiple filtering cell that completely eliminates ripple.The circuit board has copper tracks with a thickness of 105 microns, resulting in a longer durability and better reliability. The microphone body, as well as the elastic suspensions, are made of a high quality Avional Duralluminium. The microphone is anodised with scratch-proof treatment. The head basket is made of chromed brass with three levels of hand-welded grids. The cradle for the microphone support and related locking ring are made of Delrin. Includes wooden microphone box, shock mount, inductive power supply, 10 metre Mogami® microphone cable with Binder® connectors and case.
