The M-51 is a bass drum microphone system. The M-51 is placed inside the bass drum and incorporates an interchangeable chip for multi-purpose use and is capable of emulating many popular microphones. Although specifically designed for bass drum, the M-51 also works well as a boundary layer microphone in conference and stage applications. The microphone can handle very high sound pressure levels and is manufactured with anodised aviation aluminium. The M-51 is terminated to the AP40 studio preamp with an XLR connector. The preamp can be phantom or battery powered (9 volt). Includes cable, preamplifier and case.
