The 3Dio Omni Pro Binaural microphone features 4 pairs of ears with eight capsules, each pointed at 90 degrees from the adjacent pair to provide a single point, 4-position binaural perspective. The 3Dio Omni Pro comes with four sets of matched, integrated DPA 4060 capsules mounted at the opening of each ear canal. The microphone captures audio from 4 different directions, 0 degrees, 90, 180, and 270 degrees. The Omni Pro is an 8-channel microphone, but it is useful to edit and mix the output of the microphone in 4 pairs of stereo binaural tracks. The Omni Pro Binaural microphone is ideal for adding immersive binaural audio to 360 degree video productions as well as for audio only recordings. The Omni Pro binaural microphone comes standard with a 5/8″ microphone stand adapter installed in the base. The microphone stand adapter is removable. The base of the microphone has a 1/4″-20 female thread mounting hole that can be connected to a hot-shoe adapter or used to mount directly onto a tripod or grip handle. The microphone requires four, 5-pin to dual 3-pin XLR cables. Each connector is associated with the ears to the respective left and right. The outputs of the Omni Pro microphone are true transformer-balanced, phantom powered 5-pin stereo XLR outputs.
