It was first produced in Gefell in 1956 until about 1970. The S version was designed for use with the CMV 551, 561, 562, 563, and 564 microphone amplifiers. It is one of the most famous and revered microphone capsule design of all times. It is a dual 10µ PVC diaphragm on a single brass backplate capsule. It has a cardioid polar pattern.
