KMA S-7
Common name: Neumann KMA S-7
Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage
The KMA S-7 is a clip lavalier microphone manufactured by Georg Neumann GmbH between 1969 and 1985. A pressure (omnidirectional) small diaphragm capsule (nickel diaphragm) was used. The capsule can be connected directly to Sennheiser transmitters model SK 1007 and SK 1007-1, to the Neumann SWA / S7 for phantom powering or to the Neumann BS 18 / S7 battery powering unit, both usable for wire connection to microphone pre-amplifier. The KMA version can be used with Beyer-made transmitters and similar Neumann accessories. Adapters for violin (AKV-A) or cello (AKV-B) were available. The KMA S-7 is also popular for double bass recording.
