CUX-100K

Common name: Sanken CUX-100K

Production Status: In production

The CUX-100K is a super wide range three-way multi-pattern condenser microphone. It is based on the CO-100k design and can be switched between omnidirectional, cardioid for near field pick-up and cardioid for far-field pick-up. It is ideal for high-resolution recordings with high sample rates, DXD and DSD. It is well suited for orchestral recordings, theatre, foley and sound effects applications as well as for all types of acoustic instruments. It is excellent in X-Y, ORTF and Decca Tree setups. In far-field cardioid pick-up setting only the rear high frequencies are slightly attenuated to avoid picking up too much ambience. In near-field cardioid mode the frequency response is flat up to 50 kHz and limited past that point to help reject some of the ambience pick-up. The CUX-100K is designed in conjunction with the NHK Science and Technical Research Laboratories. Includes vinyl case.
