The 950 is a low impedance, dynamic cardioid microphone featuring an on/off switch. It is suitable for a wide range of musical and vocal applications. The Apex 940 has a cardioid polar pickup pattern which enhances sound isolation by increasing sensitivity in the area in front of the microphone. This minimises bleed-through from extraneous sound sources and reduces feedback. Additionally, proximity effect contributes to a fuller sound in most vocal models while a unique filter incorporated into the design reduces breath noise and the popping caused by explosive consonants such as “B”, “P” and ‘T’. The patented Apex cartridges consist of a one-piece molded unit which provides exceptional reliability and durability. Computer-refined design precisely and permanently aligns the magnet, pole piece and yoke into a single rigid unit. This discrete component is extremely resistant to shock and allows the microphone to withstand the rough use associated with life on the road.
