Common name: Crowley & Tripp Proscenium

Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage

The Proscenium is a full-sized ribbon microphone with a traditional-sounding warm frequency response, suitable for classical music recording in concert halls. It has a 2.5 um symmetrical ribbon, very high output level and a smooth, rising response. The transformer and ribbon motor are rigidly joined to give low noise. Attention is paid to both electrostatic and magnetic shielding, and internal wiring is point-to-point. The casing is stainless steel and gold-over-silver contacts are used for the ribbon mounting points.
