The Studio Vocalist is a full-sized ribbon microphone with enhanced proximity effect for close-up use in studios. It has a 2.5 um symmetrical ribbon, very high output level and a smooth, rising response. The transformer and ribbon motor are rigidly joined to give low noise, and the design is entirely passive. Attention is paid to both electrostatic and magnetic shielding, and internal wiring is point-to-point. The casing is stainless steel and gold-over-silver contacts are used for the ribbon mounting points.
