The 4016 is a design similar to the highly-regarded 4011 but with a wide cardioid pick-up pattern. The response includes an intentional soft boost (+3 dB) at 10-15 kHz to give greater brilliance in close-miking situations and a linear response in the diffuse field. The output is transformer-less and uses a high-voltage supply to give increased peak signal handling. The microphone can handle extremely high levels -168 dB before clipping.
Requires via HMA4000 2-channel high-voltage mic amp.
