The SM 69 fet is the first microphone for coincidental stereo (X-Y, M-S and Blumlein) with transistorized electronic, produced by Georg Neumann Gmbh. It was manufactured for forty year, from 1970 to 2010. It is the “fet 80” series evolution the SM 69 tube version and it has the same shape. Two K 870 capsules ( a K 67 version used in the first U 87 series) are housed inside a 48 mm diameter head grille, the upper one can be rotated by 270 degrees. The polar patterns can be selected separately and the two microphones operate independently of each other. Nine polar patterns are available and switchable from the remote control power unit (NS 69 – CU 48). During its production it was the reference microphone for coincidental stereo in the pro-audio industry.
