The MKV microphone system comprises a four capsule tetrahedral array microphone and a 2U processor unit. The microphone captures all the sounds that exist at a single point in space. The signals are converted into a format called ‘B-Format’ (Ambisonic) that can be processed to produce not only mono and truly phase-coherent stereo, but also (with the addition of the SP-451 surround processor) any surround sound format. The MKV processor has Polar Pattern and Angle controls and additionally three B-Format controls, Azimuth, Elevation and Dominance that can be used to steer the SoundField image.
The final signal output level is 0 dB.
