E100

Common name: CAD Audio E100

Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage

The E100 is a large dual diaphragm supercardioid electret condenser microphone designed for broadcast, live sound reinforcement and recording applications. It features servoed head amplifiers and two internal rechargeable 9v Nickel Metal Hydride batteries working alongside the 48v phantom power, acting as a reservoir system able to supply ten times the current available from the phantom powering alone. The E100 can be used up to six hours on fully charged batteries alone. Standard alkaline batteries can also be used if needed when phantom power is not available. In this case Phantom Power should not be applied at all as it will damage the microphone. The E100 also features a selectable 20 dB attenuation pad, a 80 Hz low-cut filter and an internal pop/EMI steel filter. It is excellent for vocals and voice-overs, piano and drum overhead. The ZM-1G Shock-mount is available as an option.
