The Mono-Set CMC 6 MK 41 is a small diaphragm super-cardioid condenser microphone. It has high directivity at medium and low frequencies comparable to those of a shotgun microphone and at the same time a natural sound thanks to its flat frequency response regardless of angle of incidence. It is well suited for indoor dialogue recording in film sound and a spot microphone for orchestra and opera recordings. The susceptibility of the MK 41 to acoustic feedback is lower than with any other Schoeps capsule type. It represents a valid alternative to shotgun microphones with the advantage that it can be positioned closer to the source as it has no interference tube. The microphone amplifier CMC 6 U and the capsule MK 41 form part of a modular microphone which permits the insertion of RC tubes or KC cables as well as other electronically active accessories between capsule and amplifier allowing for miniaturisation. The CMC 6U Amplifier offers a symmetrical, transformer-less, direct-coupled Class A output stage with low impedance, distortion, and interference. It is designed for standard 48 and 12 V phantom powering. Its circuitry recognises the supply voltage and adjusts itself automatically. Includes wooden box, SG 20 stand mount clamp and B 5 D windscreen. The CMC 641 S is also available as the compact condenser microphone CCM 41.
