The CU-44X is a transformer-less dual capsule cardioid condenser microphone. The one-micron-thick titanium diaphragms are corrosion-free and immune to temperature and humidity changes. The smaller capsule picks up higher frequencies while the larger one picks up the lower frequencies. The chosen diameter of the two capsules provides an optimum balance between overall sensitivity and self-noise figures. Total accuracy in phase response is guaranteed by rigid manufacturing standards. The microphone has a superior off-axis 90-degree response, resulting in a transparent and uncoloured sound. It is ideal for vocals, overheads, piano, strings, sound effects, sound design and acoustic instruments. The microphone is powered by the P-44X 100-volt power supply (one unit powers up to two CU-44X) via a gold-plated 4-pin XLR-type connector.
