43E

Common name: Shure 43E

Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage

The 43E is a “wave Equalized” condenser microphone for broadcast, presentation, announcing, sound effects, radio dramas, public-address and sound recording applications. The microphone head is mounted on a 51C desk stand and connected via a six feet long low-capacity jacketed conductor and removable shielded plug to a separate remote high-gain two-stage amplifier unit. The dimension of the microphone head have been chosen for minimum phase-shift with angular incidence and a small cavity. The residual response rise and slight high-frequency loss are compensated by the “Wave Equalizer” in the preamplifier unit, with a resulting flat frequency response. The head insulation is leakage-proof selected Indian Mica.
