Common name: Bumblebee RM-7

Production Status: In production

The RM-7 is an active bidirectional ribbon microphone with a built-in ultra-low noise preamplifier. It has a natural sound with wide high-frequency response thanks to the elaborate motor design. It is ideal for transient-rich acoustic instruments such as figerpicked guitars, orchestral recordings, percussive sources such as marimbas, shakers, drum overheads and ambience pickup. It is also well suited for smooth vocal recording applications. Ther RM-7 is available with either 1.8 or 1.2 micron gauge 1″ ribbons, with the 1.2 providing better transient response. Bumblebee microphones are available as a kit or fully built. All microphones are the original design of Artur Fisher with no stock components. All metal parts are machined by a local contractors and assembly is made in the Bumblebee workshop.
