Wormhole

Common name: DrAlienSmith Wormhole

Production Status: In production

The Wormhole is an omnidirectional electret condenser microphone for recording low frequencies of sound sources in a studio environment. It is phantom powered and has a 1.8m (6ft) hose attached to the front of the capsule. The hose is airtight and acts like a physical EQ, attenuating high and midrange frequencies while letting low end signals get through. The omnidirectional polar pattern and the allows capturing low frequencies from a large area. With an extended low end and with muted highs and mids, the Wormhole is designed to be mixed with close microphone for maximum effect adding fullness and weight to the overall sound. It is ideal for drum kit recording. Due to its low frequency sensitivity, we recommend just using it in the studio and not in a live performance environment. It also works best recording one instrument at a time. The hose part of the Wormhole is very sensitive to physical contact and it can act like a contact microphone. Allows for a range of interesting and creative sound possibilities. Includes stand mount and hard case.
