O.P.R. U47 FET

Common name: Open Plan Recording O.P.R. U47 FET

Production Status: In production

The O.P.R U47 Fet is a 1:1 replica of the original U47 Fet which was manufactured from 1969 through to 1986. It follows the original schematics and an O.P.R. in house hand made and precision machined, hand tuned to original Fet 47 spec K47/49 capsule. It features a shared back-plate design with center-terminated 6-micron Mylar diaphragms, setup for a fixed cardioid polar pattern. The discrete op–amp circuit which drives an output transformer can withstand high sound-pressure levels of up to 137dB. The microphone is also equipped with a switchable 10dB attenuation pad. It is ideal for bass and guitar cabinets, kick drums, brass instruments as well as vocals and speech recording applications.
