Common name: DPA 4661 CORE

Production Status: In production

The 4661 CORE is a heavy-duty lavalier microphone featuring a miniature omnidirectional pre-polarised capsule. It is acoustically identical to the 4060 but with its sensitivity adjusted to cope with higher sound pressure levels up to 144 dB SPL before clipping. The Heavy Duty Mic Series features a stainless steel housing, a heavy-duty cable relief and a thick 2.2 mm (0.09 in) Kevlar-reinforced cable and strain relief. The 5.4 mm diameter pre-polarised condenser element is contained within a vertical diaphragm called the Double Vent Protection System, which makes the mics extremely resistant to humidity and sweat. The acoustic response of the microphone can be modified by selecting the correct grid for the required application. Two grids are supplied with each microphone. The Soft Boost grid gives a 3 dB soft boost at 8-20 kHz while the High Boost grid introduces a 10 dB soft boost around 12 kHz. Like all CORE series microphones the 4661 is IP58 certified thanks to a water-repellent nano-coating of the cover and housing and the hermetic sealing of the amplifier. It can be used wireless with Microdot, Shure, Sennheiser, AKG, Sony, Audio-Technica, Beyerdynamic, Adam Hall, Lectrosonics, Line 6, Mipro, Ramsa, Rode, Samson, TOA, Trantec, Wisycom and Zaxcom transmitters or wired with a standard XLR termination. It is available in black or beige colour
