The 655-A is a high-fidelity omnidirectional dynamic microphone specifically designed for TV and radio broadcast applications. It is very compact with a diameter of just 1 inch and a length of 10 inches. The microphone is made from lathe-turned aluminium and finished in Alumilite. It is optionally available in Black Alumilite finish with satin chrome trim. The 655 model has an attractive, streamlined fluted aluminium grille and the 655-A has an acoustically treated wire mesh grille that acts as a pop, wind and breath filter. The 655 can be mounted on a stand via a microphone clip or with a swivelling holder. The capsule uses the exclusive Acoustalloy diaphragm modified for optimum elasticity. The non metallic Acoustalloy diaphragm provides a smooth response over a wide frequency range while being immune to high humidity, corrosion and mechanical shocks. The capsule assembly employs Alnico V and Armco magnets in a non-welded circuit to develop 15.000 gauss, comparable to that available in microphone four time the size of the 655A. It has an impedance of 250 ohm that can be changed to 50 ohm if needed. Includes swivel stand mount and 20 feet two-conductor shielded cable.
