The AE5400 is a handheld cardioid condenser microphone for vocal performance applications. The capsule element id shock-mounted for low handling noise and quiet performance. It uses the same large diaphragm capsule as the AT4050 studio microphone. The AE5400 features a custom transformer that isolates against noise and RF interference, and provides excellent saturation characteristics that contribute to smooth linear sound quality.
